HYDRO JETTING & MECHANICAL CLEANING
Hydro Jetting (wet) and Mechanical Sewer Cleaning (dry) Service.
It offers property owners a convenient way to:
- Have your pipelines properly proactively maintained to get the most life use from your system.
- As a necessary step to prepare pipes prior to installing trenchless pipe lining.
What is Hydro Jetting?
Hydro jetting is a water- (hydro) based form of drain cleaning that uses pressurized water to remove scale, foreign objects, grease buildup, tree roots, sanitary debris, and other items from your pipelines.
Leave it to the Pros
While hydro jetting is considered to be one of the safest and most efficient methods for treating acute issues and performing routine maintenance, it should be performed by trained technicians. In most cases, a video inspection of the pipes will be taken prior to any jetting service. This ensures that the pipes are not collapsed, missing significant sections, or otherwise unqualified for such treatment.
Broad knowledge of pipe materials, water pressures, wastewater safety, and equipment operation is necessary in order to achieve the desired results. Since sewer pipes contain contaminants including raw sewage, every precaution should be taken to protect against coming into contact with the contents. As a licensed professional plumbing contractor, we have the required steps in place to protect our technicians and your property from unnecessary exposure.
Hydro Jetting Facts
With hydro jetting, there is a water storage tank (usually on a truck or trailer) connected to a hose. The hose may be quite long, in order to reach your plumbing access. At the end of the hose is a nozzle. The nozzle, which likely has a conical shaped tip, generally sprays the high-pressure water from the center of the tip as well as around the head while it spins inside the pipes.
Depending on the condition, size and type of pipe, location of the line, and type of jetter used, the water blast in residential hydro jetting ranges from approximately 1500 PSI to 5000 PSI. The additional factor is GPM, or water gallons-per-minute. This measure also fluctuates according to the same variables.
Hydro jet drain cleaning is recommended as routine property maintenance at least every two years. If you are experiencing issues such as slow draining or backups, a video inspection prior and post service can show in detail the actual condition of your pipelines. From there, we can help you determine if additional repairs are needed. Remember, the sooner you catch an issue, the easier it is to correct.
Hydro jet drain cleaning cost can vary depending on your area, size of property, condition/age of system, and other factors. The value received from hydro jetting has a huge payoff. Oftentimes this service can extend the lifespan of the pipes, restore flow, alleviate acute clogs, and get your home or business back to working order.
Mechanical Cleaning (Dry)
While hydro methods are incredibly effective, there is still a need for mechanical (dry) pipe cleaning. Mechanical cleaning utilizes a wide range of cleaning heads that can be changed to meet the exact needs of your pipe project.
Dry cleaning allows the removal of invasive tree roots, clogs, large fatburgs (fat/oil/grease buildup), and can restore the original diameter of your pipes. When combined with hydro-jetting, this is the most ideal form of drain cleaning. It is also the very best preparation for CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) trenchless pipe lining.
How Long Does It Take
Most residential Cleaning and Descaling Services are completed in less than one day and there’s minimal interruption to your home.

Let's Get Started
Book Your Video Inspection
Our process starts with an in-depth assessment of your existing pipes. We use advanced technology to capture detailed measurements and conditions of your property’s pipes and build a streamlined plan to repair any damaged sections. Our inspections are much more specific than a plumber’s video, but we are always happy to review any current videos you may have.

FAQs
Trenchless sewer repair eliminates the need for large-scale destruction of floors and landscaped areas to conventionally replace the damaged pipes, the costs associated with replacing those surfaces, and limits the exposure to health and environmental risks created by major sewer excavations.
Individual municipalities have varying rules regarding the line where private property (including underground drainage) becomes public property. Generally, your private sewer main, or lateral, becomes the responsibility of the city at the tap to the city sewer. Blockages and backups in the city sewer system can cause backups on private property, so identifying the location of the blockage is very important as it relates to responsibility.
In residential homes, a good rule of thumb is “one liner per day.” For example, if your home has a building main, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a laundry, that is five individual liners, hence five days of work. On large-scale commercial or high-rise condominium projects, more aggressive timelines are typical, with anywhere from two to four liner installations a day.
Pipelining Technologies offers a full five (5) year parts AND labor warranty on every pipe lining job. This is four years more than a conventional Plumber’s one-year warranty and pipe lining carries a transferrable minimum fifty (50) year life-use expectancy.
No. Pipelining Technologies works to stagger brief water shutoffs in a way that residential customers will have some facilities to use each day of the project. Since pipe lining can be performed in a much shorter timeframe than pipe replacement, there are typically only a few days of slight inconvenience in comparison to several weeks of water shut off with conventional pipe replacement.
Lining of vertical stacks in high-rise buildings is amongst the most cost effective and time saving applications of trenchless pipe lining, also known as CIPP, cured-in-place pipe. Conventional replacement of a vertical stack on a building of significant height can take weeks, even months to complete, and the residents are without water to the affected facilities for the entire time. Pipe lining can accomplish the same job in two days by lining from the roof continuously to the underground with little to no need to enter individual units.

3-Steps to Trenchless Pipe Lining
Video Inspection
We begin all pipe lining projects with a detailed forensic study of the existing pipe system by means of a HD video camera inspection. A digital copy of the video is yours to keep.
Sewer Pipe Cleaning
The sewer system is cleaned using hydro (water) jetting and/or a mechanical cleaning process that removes scale, buildup, debris, blockages and restores flow in the existing pipes.
Lining & Reinstatement
Your cleaned pipes are lined with an epoxy saturated tube (liner). The tube hardens and the new structural line becomes stronger than PVC. Robotic equipment is used to reopen branch lines.
